A source-first reading note for Hexagram 32, Heng (Duration), with a reference translation, trigram frame, and one reversible observation practice.
Reference translation
HENG. The Enduring. Success. No blame. Furthering through perseverance. It furthers one to have somewhere to go. The Commentary on the Decision says: Heng means duration. The firm is above, the yielding below. Thunder and wind unite; gentle, yet in movement. Firm and yielding all correspond — this is Duration. "Duration brings success, no blame, furthering through perseverance" — for it abides long in its course. The course of heaven and earth endures, and never ceases. "It furthers one to have somewhere to go" — for where there is an end, there is a beginning. Sun and moon, holding to heaven, can shine enduringly. The four seasons change and transform, and thus enduringly bring things to completion. The sage abides long in his course, and the world is transformed to perfection. Contemplate that which endures, and the dispositions of heaven, earth, and all beings may be seen.

Context from the authority layer
"Moving in accord" is the hexagram image of Heng, and it is the fundamental reason why Heng is called "constancy." Movement brings change, and the Xici says: "Change leads to continuity, and continuity leads to endurance." Thus the Zhengyi states: "The way of enduring constancy values adaptive change. One must change and adapt according to the times in order to last long."
Read the structure before the slogan
The lower trigram is 巽 (风), associated in the bundled corpus with 入; the upper trigram is 震 (雷), associated with 动. Read the lower trigram as the inner or starting field and the upper trigram as the outward field before turning the pattern into advice.
One accountable observation practice
Copy one concrete verb, condition, or image from the reference translation for Hexagram 32. Name one place where it is observable in the situation you are examining. Then choose one small step you can reverse and write the condition that would make you review it.
Common misread to avoid
Do not turn Duration into a personality label, a guaranteed event, or a verdict about another person. The translation and trigram frame are source layers to examine, not an instruction to surrender judgment.
Source boundary
The reference translation and context are drawn from Yarrow's bundled structured Zhouyi authority layer. Yarrow keeps that layer separate from optional modern reflection. This page does not claim that Hexagram 32 was cast for your question.
