Update note · July 7, 2026

Yarrow is becoming a quieter classical-reference companion.

The current update direction is deeper local I-Ching knowledge, Yilin notes for changing hexagrams, offline-readable source material, and clearer private-on-device wording.

What changed

Yarrow is moving from a simple casting app toward a quiet I-Ching reference companion. The important change is not more spectacle. It is more source material: richer hexagram details, trigram metadata, Yilin notes when a reading changes, and a clearer boundary between local references and optional online AI.

The useful workflow stays small: ask one honest question, cast once, read the source path, and write one sentence you can act on. Yarrow remains a reflection tool, not a promise about outcomes.

Local sourcesHexagram details, lines, trigram structure, classical notes, and Yilin context make the reading easier to inspect instead of treating the app as a black box.
Private notesThe journal and reference material are positioned as local/offline first. Optional AI readings still require network access and should be chosen deliberately.
Web catalogThe public site now gives searchers and first-time users a lighter path into the 64 hexagrams and learning guides before installing.
AI agentsLLM clients can use Yarrow through MCP tools: cast_hexagram, lookup_hexagram, lookup_yilin, and divine.
